Love of a LifeTime
If I could open a door to the past of my world,
I would reach out a hand to you.
To pull you back up from the loneliest dark
Into a light that is pure and true.
Never knowing what's ahead, you would never be scared,
Remembering the times that we shared.
All that you've been fighting for,
I'll fight for it too,
Holding your hand in mine.
If we should fall,
We won't be afraid,
Clinging to each other so tight.
When the world finds our bodies,
They'll be jealous with their stares,
Seeing yours upon mine.
Envy of a love,
So pure and so true,
They'll have no choice
But to write our names
In the sky.
And all that you are waiting for, I promise
You will find it in me.
I'll be what it takes for you to believe.
For the moment it takes to breathe,
You'll fly away with me,
We'll leave this past behind.
To a place where fairy tales really do come true,
I'll be the love of your life
And you will be the love of mine

Beautiful!
"If I could open a door to the past of my world" - Great opening line! |

That is so amazing, Katie. Absolutely amazing. When I was reading this, for a while, I thought it was me who had written it - I started to think I had overdone myself. But yea, I agree with the above - it's beyond great! If anything, I think the flow is a bit rocky and start-stop at times (beyond where it's comfortable; think stop and go traffic.) I always say that perhaps you could get where I lost the rhythm in the second stanza.
But don't get me wrong, I think this is one of the better pieces I've seen on my time on the site. Thanks for the treat! :) |

| Katie, I love this one, it's real hearts and flowers, a little sentimental, but that's what I'd expect. Maybe some dead wood to cut back, thus some work, and if you do I can see it looking a treat. ~T |
