An Ode To Night

Engulfed in the orange light of evening I myself find
With memories and musings meandering through my mind
Suddenly a swift spark of thought strikes as evening fades to night
Inspired I hastily grab my pen and begin to write

As if by magic she comes to life upon the page
My Eternal Beauty immune to the ravages of age,
Her eyes as blue as diamonds sparkle within my mind's eye
Accompanied by a sunlight smile never ceasing to inspire by and by.

A woman wearing moon and stars
She goads me to see life without reality's bars
And as her hand takes mine I see through her sight
Beauteous forms which fill my very soul with delight

My thouhts flow freely forth in an endless stream
My hand grows weak and cannot keep up it would seem
I smell her scent ever so pleasant
And feel the calm of comfort to know that she is present

Through the romance of rhyme
We become lovers lost to the meaning of time
But when darkness steals away and dawn is ready to come
My lady leaves and it ends as swiftly as it has begun
Fulfilling this, the purpose - My poem is done.

This is a beautiful expression of creativity and love of many types. The love of writing, the love of a beautiful woman, the love of life, the love of being a poet. You have written of these in a beautiful manner here. I enjoyed the peacefulness within your poem.

I like how you were awestruck with beauty and inspired on the spot. I always like spontaneity in writing.

A light and soft poem fouchega,

Lovely the way that you have written the piece in such a floating fashion. Love shown in such a reflective and airy way- cool!

Beautiful, I got completely taken away on your journey, thank you for that.

This is a lovely poem, it's really cheered me up after a mad day :-)
Beautiful flow - it reflected the lines and the images you've written. The whole thing sort of took me over as I read, in particular I love the third verse. This is pure poetry, what it's all about, brilliant!
