Distrait

(Mihoba, Cheeka, and Jocisse are sitting in lawn chairs in their backyard).

Mihoba: What shall we do to pass this stodgy evening?

(Cheeka raises her glass of Chamblaise and sips it. Mihoba turns to Jocisse).

Mihoba: What shall we do to pass this stodgy evening?

Jocisse: Let it rest.

Mihoba: But this day is clammy. Perhaps tomorrow till be jaunty.

(Jocisse shrugs. Mihoba squints around the yard and rubs his chin. Cheeka's gliding through the stars. A cardinal lands in the grass a few yards away. Jocisse is there).

Mihoba: What shall we do to pass this stodgy evening?
