Perception of Madness

'The world is a beautiful place.' she said
'With the blue grass and green sky.'

Her best friends exist in her minds eye
She talks to them
They reply

She smiles and suddenly the world is beautiful
With its individual perceptions
And her pristine face

Reality has a bold and vivid hue of pink
Normal walks a thin line
A distinction that defines itself

Chaos is common place
psychology is abnormal

I hear voices when I am alone
Feel a presence behind me when no one is there
The world is a dull shade of grey without her
And a bright shadow of red when I'm depressed
I talk to myself
I reply

Like your other readers, I love these lines - "normal walks a thin line/a distinction that defines itself" and "chaos is commonplace/psychology is abnormal" Nice play on words.

Thank you all very much for your comments. I haven't been on lately since school has taken up so much of my free time. I'll be around more now that summer break is close.

Thank you all again!

Mel, these are some excellent lines. "Normal walks a thin line" probably tops them all, but the use of the various colors was good too. --Robert Barlow
