I'm here on this site to play around with ideas, and share what i'm working on each week.
Some of the things i'm posting here, i have been playing with for more than ten years. The good news is that these pieces are much shorter now than they used to be. My goal is to distill things that have been sitting around my house forever and get rid of them so they stop laughing at me.

I dropped out of school at 16 to "become a writer." That's what i told my parents and they laughed, briefly, before becoming very angry.
However, twenty years later i'm still writing a bit each week and i'm happy with the work.

Even though there have been many dry spells i have stuck to it and still look forward to sitting down and shouting at the keyboard.

SHHHH. I'm hiding right now. I'm not here.
DON'T look. act like we just met.

Supposed to be writing. heh.
but i'm not. I'm here with you. It's nice.
you look great.

Supposed to be working on this OPUS, be all "on deadline" and "do something productive" and things and stuff.

I will comment on or review pieces i like and only those. Granted, one could argue that without any sort of education on the act of writing i have no right to an opinion and certainly no right to offer suggestions.
But i don't like that one much.

i will try to offer encouragement, and be constructive and honest. Which is how i would appreciate being treated here. If i commented on your work, it's because i liked it. Probably read it several times. I won't pick it apart, because you don't want me to do that, and i don't want you to do that to me.

Gentle nudges in the direction i think you should go is what i offer. We all have our path to good writing to find for ourselves.

As a single father of two, i don't have a lot of free time to write. But i'm a patient bastard.

I joined this site to get honest input about a writing project i've been working on and to connect with other people who are serious about learning how to write.

the first project is a collection of poetry, story/blog things and private thoughts called:

Did I Say That Out Loud?

My other project is still mostly a diary thing about being a single father called Father's Milk.

i love to write. I realize i'm not very good at it. But it's more energizing than sex, and requires not a shower afterwards. So there.
