Born and raised in Southside Chicago, Erik Duarte is also the bassist for an up and coming local band in his native town. Although music has been part of his life for 8 years now, Erik began writing 3 years ago and has written several works such as "Something Sole" and "Vision Dans Le Noir". Duarte credits an aesop's fables that his older sister took out of the library for him as a kid as his first reading experience, "Every story just took me into another world with the colorful characters and interesting yet child friendly storylines." Duarte regards, "It was a whole new escape for me."
"Bringing light to the darkness." is his motto with written works that channel the dark vibes of Edgar Allen Poe and dark humor that would make even Stephen King proud. His inspirations lie in film, music and real life. You can always bet on an encounter with Duarte's inner demons while delving into one of his creations. Duarte is definitely a writer to watch out for.
