Spending three years studying for a degree in Drama and English gave my flourishing interest in literature an eclectic boost. After the timely realisation that my skills as an actress were, to put it politely, non-existent, I decided that writing was the way to go.
With a varied list of previous occupations behind me, from ballet dancing and teaching to working in a scrap yard, I certainly have plenty to write about.
My love of history led to a hobby in historical re-enactment. Having gone from early Medieval right through to World War 2, I have been somewhat of a time traveller, too.
But for now, I am a wife and mother and jewellery designer with an avid interest in antiques and history of all eras and a burning desire to learn about pretty much anything that comes my way. I wish I had more time to write (and read) and snatching a few moments here and there is an interesting addition to the exciting challenges I face as a new parent.
For me, writing isn’t just about expressing one’s emotions, it’s about musicality and pushing the boundaries of the language we are used to. I write due to a compulsion to experiment with the richness of the English language and to find out more about the effects words can have on the way people think.
