I have been telling stories ever since I could talk and writing them down once I knew how. Although I get too distracted by the other joys of life to dedicate myself to my writing, I've recently remembered what a joy it is for me and hope to get into the habit of writing stories regularly. The other love of my life is travel, and I will soon be jetting off to do a study abroad in China. The orient fascinates me and always gives me plenty of fodder for stories, a fact that I learned during what was probably my most productive writing period of my life - my year long exchange to Japan while I was in high school. Learning languages excites me, as it gives me both a better understanding of English but encourages me to look at it in a new way (ever spoken to a Japanese who is trying to speak English with you? You know what I mean).
