I am a poet, lyricist, singer, and play guitar. I have received a black eye in Belmopan, Berlin, Barcelona and Belfast - all to do with girls one way or another. I once jumped off the back of a chicken truck going 70 - landed no problem.
Poetry/Writing wise I am influenced by Kerouac, Bukowski, Young and Dylan. I am a dreamer, like big ideas, but keep a constant focus on the small things in life, because when it comes down to it, those are the things that really matter.
When you leave your city for a long time - you notice the small things - like french fries.
Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn and his One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich is a good example of 'small things' when he saves cigarette remains under his mattress in the hope of the luxury of a full one.
That really hit home for me.
