SENSUAL. Sight: Color. Love it. Show me whimsical shapes and patterns and I'll glow for hours. Graceful lines. Subtlety of movement. It stills my mind. Close up. The veins on a leaf. An eye. The texture of life. The things that often seem too small and are frequently overlooked. Sound: Quiet. The ticking of a clock. My own footsteps in counterpoint with my breath. Wind. Laughter. Joy. Celebration. Stories that ignite my imagination. Words that are spun so magnificently that I want to hold my breath. Whispers. Secrets. Magic. Intimacy. Music that takes me beyond mind. Smell: Autumn. Decaying leaves. Wet earth. Fires. Spices. Home. Old books. Winter. Cold mornings. Soup full of spices and garlic. Bread. Candles. Spring. Hyacinths, lilacs, tulips. Morning dew. Green. Summer. Humidity. Fertile earth. Roses. Hot pine forest. Rain. Taste: Rich French chocolate. Masala chai tea with cream and sugar. Garlic mashed potatoes. Curry. Feta cheese. Dried cranberries. Fresh croissants. Hummus. Freshly steamed vegetables. Cool water. Belgian beer. Sweet grapes. Mint. Tarragon with cream. Pesto with sage. Crisp lettuce with salt. Butter on warm bread. Chinese chili tofu. Lemon pastries. Chocolate chip cookies. Green or white tea. Touch: Textures. Luxuriously soft and smooth, like velvet or silk. Cool marble or glass. Scratchy wool or brick or sandpaper. Warm and alive. Soft human skin, breathing, pulsing. Cat curled in a ball, sleeping. Cattails, lamb's ears, the center of an Echinacea blossom. Materials with patterns in the texture, ridges especially. Mossy stones. Smooth paper. Rough paper. Recently shaven heads. Bowls full of tiny polished stones. Mud. Hair. River stones. Sticky adhesives. Timeless, inviting, curious. Slow and deliberate. Gentle and intense. Lingering. Light, swirly, playful. TRANSCENDENT. Wanderer: Quests lead me to the farthest corners of the earth. Leave no stone unturned. Contemplative: Leave no question unasked. Answers appear in continuous streams and constantly evolve. Consciousness grows while my finger is tracking the pulse. Writer: Know what must be said and ground it on the page. Editing comes much, much later. Lover: Of all. Now and now and now. On and on and on. Always.
