The Light
Smoky night air filters into my lungs
As brilliant white stars dance in the blue-black sky
Its ethereal melody of lightning and rain
Caresses my body with passion and pain
But through this chaotic and turbulent fight
My heart shines on like a blinding light
And so we dance until the dawn
When my heart shines through and out and beyond
Until the shadowed earth is touched
And every being's essence is clutched
In the hands of my heart's warm light
And in the arms of my love
It's filtering through the clouds as it fades
A message of darkness, cold, and decay
And so into my heart it enters again
To shine within me until the night ends
