Born in rural Georgia, and raised in Savannah, Corey Hopps was introduced to poetry at an early age by his mother. He began writing in high school, and became iterested in poets such as Etheridge Knight, Sonia Sanchez,and Jack Kuorack. Hopps is the co-author of Urban Journalism (2006), Williams and Co. Publishing,as well as the co-owner of HoBo Publishing, LLC.
