Born and raised in the U.S., and growing up with a passion for Southern fiction and drama as well as a deep interest in mysticism and world religions, I have graduate degrees in both subject areas -- comparative world religions, and creative writing and literature. I have written and published short fiction, won some awards, and lost some. My most recent fiction project is a large one -- a trilogy of novels, the first of which (called PIETY STREET) I recently finished. I found a wonderful agent, who has been circulating it now for about 5 months. I also write drama, and my most recent play, "Swan" is in development with a theatre company, Philadelphia Theatre Workshop, in Philadelphia, PA. It is going to be part of their PlayShops Festival this June, 2007.
In addition to my own creative work, I teach on an adjunct basis at a bunch of local (Phila.) universities. I also am the Founding Director of Hidden River Arts
(www.hiddenriverarts.org) which is a non-profit literary arts organization offering writing prizes, educational outreach and residencies to writers.
