I've been writing for over twenty years. It is now that I am in graduate school and more focused that I feel I am a bonafide poet. I recently self-published my first poetry book titled "On Hold, Hold On" on Xlibris.com. I have studied under the tutelage of several known poets. I am influenced by Langston Hughes, Nikki Giovanni, Ntzoke Shange, Maya Angelou, Kahlil Gibran, Cornelius Eady and J. California Cooper. I am a passionate writer. While the majority of my works revolve around the subject of love, I am compelled to write about pressing issues of today. My hope is to continue to write material that will inspire and motivate people.
