Johnny Walker was born in El Paso, Tx. He graduated with honors in Music and Orchestra, and immediately after high school, went out on the road with working bands as a hired musician, opening for such artists as George Straight, Charley McClain, and Sylvia. At one point, Johnny was the youngest member of the North American tour of Harry Chapin’s last work, Cotton Patch Gospel.
Johnny has worked in film, TV commercials, and modeling. He has been writing songs for himself and others for numerous years. He has produced five music videos featuring his own music through the NYU Film School. Johnny formed and maintained his own band in New York for seven years where he wrote and produced a musical CD entitled Shoes, of which he received two citations from Billboards songwriting contest. Johnny has studied music with the French Conservatory of Music at Carnegie Hall and played violin in several concerts there with a small orchestra, to raise money for children’s school programs.
Between musical endeavors, Johnny has worked in the music business throughout the years in every capacity of the field, including record warehouses, music retail, violin repair, and rack jobbing, to name a few. Johnny has been an agent for working bands in Dallas, as well as an agent for actors in New York. While traveling and touring, Johnny learned the skill of sound.
While working as a full time sound and lighting technician in New York, Johnny also began working as a booking manager. Over the years, he became very involved in sound design and production, as well as stage managing. He has traveled extensively with recording artists as an Audio Production Manager. He has designed sound for hundreds of top-notch artists and projects such as Katie Curic, Kaye Ballard, as well as a personal favorite, Carole King. Johnny was also on the media services musical team for Ralph Lauren runway shows at their world headquarters on Madison Avenue in New York, for two years
Johnny currently resides in Nashville, TN for the greatest part of the year, while making bi-monthly working trips to New York for sound design and production for clients such as, HBO, and Miramax Films, to name a few.
Johnny enjoys the creative side of life and is currently working on a Fiction mystery adventure manuscript at his home in Nashville, TN.
