I was born in İstanbul, Turkey in 1959. I first studied at American Academy for Girls in İstanbul, than got a university degree in international relations at İstanbul University. I began writing poetry when I was in high school. After graduating the university, I began to work as a journalist. For more than ten years I worked in different publications in Turkey. I won two journalism awards. Since 1996 I have been living in London with my two sons. In recent years mainly I had concentrated in poetry and especially haiku. My first haiku book in English is recently published. I am also preparing a memoir book for publishing which is in Turkish. Besides writing I am also taking watercolor classes and learning Hebrew. .
