A proud resident of Austin, Texas for over twenty-eight years, Faust??s diverse talents have allowed her to pursue an eclectic career as a graphic designer, writer and abstract/mixed media painter. 2005 marked the release o f her first published collection of poetry, ??Before Icarus, After Achilles? (Publish America), which was received by the public with a great enthusiasm. Faust partnered with Dalton Publishing in January of 2007 for the publishing of her technohorror vampire series ??Eternal Vigilance?? which is currently scheduled for release, winter 2007 (www.gabriellefaust.com). Faust has been consistently active in a wide array of organizations including the Writers League of Texas, Austin Visual Arts Association, SXSW Festivals, Texas Poetry Society, Austin Women in Communications and Art House. At the beginning of 2007, she was also elected the Southwestern Regional Representative for the International Order of Horror Professionals. Faust is also the North American literary representative for the French horror author Sire Cedric. Faust also recently accepted the position of assistant editor/art editor for the quarterly publication "The Bloodied Quill".
Outside of the literary world, Faust is also widely recognized in the graphic design community for her abilities as both a graphic and web designer. With over ten years of professional experience, including the founding of MentalWheaties Design, a freelance studio offering graphic and web design services for an international portfolio of clientle, Faust currently holds the title of Art Director at Oak Sanderson advertising agency in Austin, Texas. Faust was the recipient of the 2003 SXSW Texas Interactive Award for Exellence in Self Promotion for her mentalwheaties.com web site.
Faust continues to pursue her passion for abstract painting and illustration, showing her work both in Austin and Houston galleries and establishments including Sippora, Austin James Gallery, Sculptures by Design, Silhouette Sushi and Starbucks.
