I was born in 1960 in Detmold, Germany. I received a M.S. degree in Forestry from the University of Munich in 1985 and also studied environment protection technology in Munich.
I am married and have two sons and a daughter. I became interested in writing after the birth of my daughter and in January 2003 I graduated at the Axel Andersson Akademie in Hamburg.
In California I wrote my first book on Environmental History, Der nordamerikanische Bison und das Grasland (The North American Bison and The Grassland), published by Die Blau Eule in 2003.
Currently I live in Finland and, in addition to writing short stories I explore my knowledge in literature by studying North American Studies at the University of Helsinki.
