Born in Albany, Ga, an only child to a lower middle class family, i have been in love with the words since a very young age when i began, at eight, composing lyrics in a mimicry from the musicians i was exposed to at the time. from there, i wrote voraciously throughout middle and high school, graduating in 1998 and leaving the blank town i was raised. i moved 90 miles to Valdosta, Ga and attended college amidst family troubles including divorce and death all while soaking the college experience of learning about the craft i had come to see as a saviour, almost god-like. Graduated in 2006 from Valdosta State University with a BA in Creative Writing, planning to attend Master's Program in the same field within a few years. The poetry has been described as visceral, seeking a new vision, to borrow Arthur Rimbaud's term, with an emphasis on the real life experiences of a common man rather than the intellectualizing of poetry for the purpose of education or collegiate institutions. however, that is not to say that the influence derived from the Ivory Towers has not been instrumental in the development and progression of verbal and written creativity. Poetry now has become the expression of the unseen with attention to detail and emotion, springing forth from a tradition that appears when the world can be viewed from a clear perspective and intensity.
