I am a suburban housewife and mother of three. I completed a Diploma of Creative Writing in December 2005, which took me three years and two babies to complete part-time online. I'm a member of a Wellington-based science fiction writers's group. I won a Sir Julius Vogel Award for Best New Talent for 2007.
I've made a grand total of four sales at professional rates (does that make me a "real" writer?) and forty-odd sales to other print and online publications. A selection of my published stories can be purchased at www.anthologybuilder.com.
My first love is speculative fiction (science fiction, fantasy and horror), but for some reason I have been more successful financially with my "literary" sales. One day I'm going to start work on a novel (isn't everyone?), once I kick my addiction to the more immediate gratification of writing, completing and selling short stories and poetry.
