Iâ??m an advanced doctoral student in anthropology at UC San Diego with additional background in public health, psychology and womenâ??s studies. My published work is academic in nature, including two articles for the journal, Al-Raida (2006), a chapter in a book on masculinities in the southern hemisphere (Men of the Global South, 2007), and collaboration on a book called The Academic Game (2005), about strategies for sustaining motivation towards a Ph.D. I have other (unpublished) work that includes short stories, a nonfictional series about recent experiences in Cairo, Egypt, poetry, childrenâ??s books and a novel.
