I was born to humble beginnings in Pontiac, MI. I was fortunate to have been born to good parents in the United States.

Fast forward.

I went to a different school every year (a condition which continued up through high school). I went to a Catholic Montessori school in Arkansas, where a nun chased me around her desk with a yard stick. Seriously, that really happened. I was terrified. I have never felt terribly comfortable around nuns since.

Fast forward.

In high school, people believed that I thought I was a vampire. In retrospect, I can see how I might have given that impression. I wasn't really "goth," but I was odd. This isn't important information.

Fast forward.

I believe that I'm a good writer. I enjoy it. I find myself posting editorial columns (disguised as MySpace blog entries) just for fun. I'd like to get paid to write, so that I didn't need another job. If I can do that, I win. Game over. Finding a career that you enjoy is the secret of life.
