"I want my love to be the stuff of legends,
My words to be the stuff of English classes,
And my heart to be the one that changed the world"
Rachna Vohra was born and raised in Montreal, Canada, and has been writing poetry and prose since her early schoolgirl days. She prefers to let her writing flow instead of following rules, leading to her sensitive, highly metaphorical, and imaginative work. While on a trip to India, she published her first book of poetry, The Distance Within, and was thereafter inspired to explore short fiction as an outlet for her spirituality and imagination. She has written various fables and short stories for children and adults, including The Acorn and the Caterpillar, a fable about understanding and coping with death. Her poetry was also featured in a breast cancer fundraiser anthology, Beyond Memories. Lately, she has been examining the experiences of the feminine, and is incorporating this, as well as her South Asian background, into her writing. She works as a freelance editor, having edited a diverse range of manuscripts, and does regular editorial work for Jaico Publishing House.
