I received my B.A. from Western Michigan University in April, 2006, and currently live in Notre Dame, Indiana, with my wife, two daughters, and son. I am currently in residence at Notre Dame's MFA poetry program and am working as a freelance writer.
Family and work experiences supply me with creative material, but rather than resting on experience alone, I aim for greater depth by actively studying and writing about history, religion, mythology, and the sciences.
I see the past and the symbolic recurring in post-modern life, where the old human struggles have been cast off in name but cannot be escaped. I hope to draw subtle attention to these recurrences in my writing. As the Preacher of Ecclesiastes states, "There is nothing new under the sun."
