I have lived in Aberdeen Scotland for a number of years now, having originally been born in the city, I was brought up for a number of years in the Kingdom of Fife close to the beloved home of golf, St Andrews. I have a wonderful family for which I provide and nurture. To enable me to do this, I work in the Oil Industry as a Health and Safety professional, and travel offshore alot in the process. I have many interests ranging from culture, history, nature, technology, music, literature etc..etc..But one which is my passion is to read and write poetry. It all began back in 1993,and has been very much a hobby that I enjoy for the purpose of relaxation.

I have submitted several poems to competitions, which I hope one day will be considered suitable to winning. To date, I have had only three of my poems published in anthologies, but nowhere of any note yet! But hey you have to start somewhere!

While you are here I hope you enjoy my work, and certainly I would be pleased the hear your honest comments and constructive criticism.

Please find below a piece which I wrote, that should stir the passion in many a true Scot.

Forsaken Pride

Routes compass wide beckon still,
from the land once so dearly held.
Where emissaries past trod such hills,
beseeched from their monarchs meld.

Poised above the meandering tay,
lies the crux of soveriegn; supreme.
Our stone so true did here once lay,
in this land of the Scottish dream.

Omnis terra; Everyman's land,
is the point of past sworn felty.
Which bound us to our kings demand,
of sacrafice, love and loyalty.

Monastic souls, in realms of sleep,
guard still this truth of old.
A secret, no longer should they keep?
Crave our stone's truth now be told!
