I've been writing since sixth grade, and I think my English teachers Ms. Duke and Mr. Cross are the primary reasons I survived middle school. I have written in a wide variety of genres over the years, and my poetry was published four times while I was in high school (that was due to my 11th grade creative writing teacher Ms. Cook, who the following year was my English teacher and school magazine advisor, and I was glad to have been her student in three classes before she retired at the end of that year).
I think one of my biggest problems is that I have no follow through. I have tons and tons of ideas, but there are just a couple of "pet projects" that get any attention from me. My other writings go neglected, although that may not be all bad...
I used to have a blog (actually I had three), but my life isn't interesting enough to keep it up. I find fiction much more entertaining anyway.
Usually inspiration for a new idea comes to me in the form of something like a lightning bolt. It can come at any time, from anywhere, and occasionally it happens when I'm trying to go to sleep.
I'm very into characterization; characters have to be fleshed out pretty well in my longer works, which may eventually see the light of day here. I also love detail, as you may notice from reading.
My ultimate goal (for now) is to get my idea for a tv show to air. First I have to get scripts written, though..
