Melissa grew up in Fayetteville, North Carolina. From the time Melissa was able to read, she has always had a passion for reading and writing. As the middle child of three, Melissa often found herself turning to writing as a way of coping with difficult situations in her life. Melissa was influenced by her mother, whom she admired for her creative ability to write and sing. At the age of sixteen, Melissa desired to write and hoped to one day be a journalist. She carried the dream in her heart and now puts all of her passion in her work
