My writing is an on-again, off-again tale of woe and despair, mostly due to my inability to finish any ideas in my head, instead letting stories drift into confusion. I'm mildly obsessed with the details as well, the placement of punction, the meaning of pauses, the use of colors. I think that makes me typical and boring when it comes to fictional allegory.
